    WHY ADVOCACY CAMPAIGNS?

    Advocacy campaigns can be a powerful tool for promoting social change by raising awareness about an issue, mobilizing support for a cause, and putting pressure on decision-makers to enact policies or make changes that address the issue at hand. Advocacy campaigns can involve a range of tactics, including media outreach, public events, letter-writing campaigns, and lobbying efforts, and they can be effective at creating the conditions for social change by building momentum and broadening the base of support for a particular issue.

    There are many examples of successful advocacy campaigns that have had a significant impact on social change. For example, the #MeToo movement, which began as a hashtag on social media, has led to widespread conversations about sexual harassment and assault and has sparked a number of policy changes, including the passage of new laws and the adoption of new corporate policies. Similarly, the Black Lives Matter movement has brought attention to issues of racial injustice and has helped to shape the national conversation around race and policing.

    WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

    At the end of the Creative Advocacy workshop, the participants will be able to identify the issues in their societies, set up the goals and overall objective/s, build a strategy, and design activities within the campaign.

    The participants will also learn how to do so in a creative way. Nowadays, we have a variety of digital creative tools that helps us do advocacy in a new, creative, and more powerful way.

    This workshop will be facilitated using non-formal education methods. The participants will learn through interactive methods and real-life examples.
